Catherine Zask multiple ses écritures ou la matière à partir de
laquelle elle développe son langage visuel. Elle prend toujours la
lettre comme point de départ: les lettres sont sa matière, ses signes.
Elle les décompose ou les ordonne comme pour mieux en révéler le sens,
en
faire des images.
Sa police de caractère Alfabetempo est
un travail de grande qualité. J'admire son œuvre sobre et technique
ainsi que son site internet qui est
une merveille car d'une rare simplicité de navigation. Il contient
aussi des animations qui mettent en valeur ses expériences
typographiques.
Graphic designer, poster artist, artist, author... Catherine Zask multiplies her writings or the matter from which it she develops her visual language. It always takes the letter like starting point: the letters are its matter, its signs. It breaks up them or orders them as for better revealing the direction of them, to make images of them. Its character font Alfabetempo is a work of great quality. I admire his sober and technical work as her Internet site which is a wonder bus of a rare simplicity of navigation. It contains also animations which emphasize its typographical experiments.

Non-Format est un duo de graphiste composé du Norvégien Kjell Ekhorn et de l’Anglais Jon Forss. Ils mêlent souvent photographies et déstructurations typographiques dans leurs mises en page. Ils ont a fondé leur propre atelier, se voient sollicités par de prestigieuses institutions comme la Biennale de Venise, et travaillent pour des labels de musiques, sans négliger l’illustration de mode ou la publicité.
Non-format is a duet of graphic designer made up of the Norwegian Kjell Ekhorn and the English Jon Forss. They often mix photographs and typographical destructurations in their page-settings. They have founded their own atelier and are seen solicited by prestigious institutions like the Biennial one of Venice, and work for labels of musics, without neglecting the illustration of mode or publicity.

Nakagin Capsule Tower, Ginza, Tokyo, 1970-1972
Ce bâtiment de métal et de béton, sur treize étages, est le premier exemple au monde d'un ensemble de capsules, construites en dehors du chantier, assemblées avec du béton. Chaque capsule abrite un studio ou peut être assemblée à d'autres pour former un appartement plus grand.
This concrete and metal building, on thirteen stages, is the first example in the world of a whole of capsules, built apart from the building site, assemblies with beton. Each capsule shelters a studio or can be assembled with others to form a larger apartment.

Il faudra attendre les années 60, et la créativité du groupe Archigram pour que renaisse l'intérêt pour ce type d'habitat modulable et nomade. Les notions de "Plug-in city", de "Walking-city" et d'"Instant-city" tentaient d'inciter les professionnels de la ville à réfléchir autrement sur les nouveaux territoires urbains. Le modèle de "Walking-city" était révolutionnaire mais trop vieux, maintenant nous devons imaginer des habitations qui puissent voler et léviter.

Sur la planète Hypérion sept pèlerins entament ensemble un voyage initiatique dont nul ne sait où il les conduira. Les récits de leurs aventures antérieures jetteront peut-être une lumière contrastée sur le destin qui les a réunis. Le thème d'Hypérion a été imaginé par un poète anglais mort jeune, pauvre, inconnu et malade, dans les premières années du XIXème siècle : John Keats. Ce livre est celui de la création par l'humanité de Titans mécaniques qui aspirent à la réduire en esclavage, voire à la détruire. Au XXVIIIe siècle, l'Hégémonie, la confédération des planètes colonisées par l'Homme, est menacée. Les Extros, un groupe d'humains rebelles qui a fondé une nouvelle civilisation dans l'espace, semblent préparer l'invasion de la planète Hypérion. Pendant ce temps, sur cette même planète, les mystérieux Tombeaux du Temps sont en train d'entrer en phase avec le présent. Dès qu'ils seront ouverts, ils libéreront le Gritche, un colosse de métal, dont certains prétendent qu'il est un dieu sanguinaire, venu pour faire expier aux humains leurs péchés. C'est tout simplement fascinant, je le conseille vivement. Dan Simmons nous fait voyager à une vitesse incroyable à des années lumières. J'avais aussi lu "l'Homme nu" de Dan Simmons (1992), qui traite du cerveau et de la télépatie entre un homme et une femme, aussi une grande aventure.

Extros, a group of human rebels which founded a new civilization in space, seem to prepare the invasion of the Hyperion planet. During this time, on this same planet, mysterious Tombs of Time is entering in phase with the present. As soon as they are opened, they will release Gritche, a metal colossus, of which some claim that he is a sanguinary god, come to make expier human their sins. This book is that of creation by the humanity of mechanical Titans which aspire to reduce it in slavery, to even destroy it. Dan Simmons makes me travel at years lights at an incredible speed. It is quite simply attractive, I advise it, I adore. I had also read "The Hollow man" of dan Simmons (1992), which treats brain and telepathy between a woman and a man, also a great adventure.

Merci à Michal qui m'a envoyé ces quatres photographies. Cette architecture a été imaginée par OMA (The Office for Metropolitan Architecture). Ce projet me tient à cœur, j'aime à voir que les architectes dépassent certaines limites. Ce projet est tout simplement visionnaire et éclatant. Il correspond exactement à ce que je recherchais. Maintenant, c'est à moi de jouer et d'imaginer mon architecture sans me baliser aux normes et lois architecturales (que je ne connais pas d'ailleurs).
Thanx to Michal who sent these four pictures. This architecture was imagined by OMA (The Office for Metropolitan Architecture). This project hold me alive, I like to see that the architects exceed some limit. This project is quite simply visionary and bright. It corresponds exactly so that I sought. Now, it is time to play for me and imagine my architecture without thinking to the architectural standards and laws (that I do not know in fact).
